Andrew Martinez joined National Mortgage News in January 2022. He previously worked at Bisnow, covering commercial real estate news in the Boston region, and prior to that, covered the federal court for the Boston Herald. He began his career in 2015 as the sports editor of the Rio Grande Sun newspaper in Northern New Mexico. He studied journalism and political science at California State University, Northridge, where he was the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper.

Marty Green brings more than 30 years of high-level experience in the legal, banking and financial services industries to his client engagements. He leads the firm’s Dallas office.

Marty advises clients on the latest rules and regulations covering residential lending, in addition to building on the firm’s long tradition of delivering loan closing documents with speed and accuracy. Before joining Polunsky Beitel Green, Marty served as the executive vice president and general counsel for Dallas-based CTX Mortgage Company, then the country’s largest non-bank residential lender. He also previously worked as special counsel at Baker Botts, a leading international law firm.

Marty is admitted to practice before all Texas state and federal district courts in addition to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. An honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, he earned his undergraduate degree at Southern Utah University. Texas Monthly has recognized him multiple times as a Super Lawyer.

After a long career in the Bay Area, including time at Electronic Arts, Apple, and Redfin (where he led the product team), Andy started his first company, Approved, in the mortgage tech space while an Entrepreneur in Residence at the renowned VC firm, Social Capital. After raising a seed round and spending a few years building the company, the product, and the team, Approved parlayed a potential customer, Credit Karma, into a potential acquirer when he sold the company. He ran the Mortgage and New Business teams as a VP & General Manager at CK for four years, and now he’s back at building another company at RetroRate, leveraging assumable loans to get more buyers into homes, and unlock the market for sellers, agents and other real estate professionals alike.

He graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Stanford, and hopped across the bay for an MBA from Berkeley. When he’s not busy on the startup, he can be found most days chasing his children around sunny San Diego.

Michael is a strategic insights and content development executive with a subject matter expertise in financial services and strategy consulting. Prior to his current role, Michael served as a senior analyst with Arizent’s PaymentsSource publication (now part of American Banker) where he published articles and research reports, conducted podcasts and led the brand’s social media strategy. Before joining Arizent, he held executive roles at Visa, Ondot (Fiserv), Synchrony, Capital One and McKinsey. His strengths include his ability to sift through data, understand its strategic and tactical implications and then relay that to executives in a succinct manner. In his spare time, Michael enjoys travel, hiking and volunteering at the Texas Food Bank. Michael holds an M.B.A. from Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University and a B.B.A. from Ross School of Business at University of Michigan.

John Wines, Chief Strategy Officer at Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, leads enterprise-wide innovation in lending, overseeing IT, data, and sales training. His work drives scalable growth at Atlantic Bay.

John earned HousingWire Vanguard honors in 2023 for “moving markets forward” — recognized for launching Atlantic Bay’s AI chatbot, modern POS, and systems architecture that empower both borrowers and staff. With more than 20 years in operations, sales, and mortgage tech, John brings hands-on insight into tech leadership, vendor strategy, and digital transformations in the mortgage space.

Prior to working at Atlantic Bay, John held roles at Homestead Mortgage Corporation and Wells Fargo. He graduated from James Madison University in 2001 with a BBA in Finance.

Kim Nichols is the Chief TPO Production Officer and Senior Managing Director, where she leads a team that drives strategy and revenue within the wholesale channel. Under her leadership, Pennymac TPO quickly became one of the top wholesale lenders in the country.

Nichols joined Pennymac in 2011 as part of the core leadership team charged with building the foundation for what is now the largest correspondent investor in the country. She has been recognized for her expertise in the mortgage industry throughout the years.

Nichols consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership and industry expertise. In 2025, the Broker Action Coalition (BAC) appointed Nichols to its Board of Directors, recognizing her leadership and expertise within Pennymac TPO as highly beneficial to advocating for the broker and wholesale channel within the industry. In 2024, Nichols was selected to join the Forbes Advisory Board to offer insightful mortgage content that aligns with the current industry and help empower readers to navigate the home buying process. In 2023, Nichols joined the inaugural Corporate Board of Governors for the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB), an organization committed to promoting the highest degree of professionalism and ethical standards for mortgage professionals. She also is a Board Member for the California Mortgage Bankers Association (CMBA), to help support its mission in representing the residential and commercial real estate finance industry before all government and regulatory agencies. In 2022, Mortgage Professional America Magazine included Nichols in its Mortgage Global 100 list, which highlights renowned industry leaders driving forward innovations to carry the mortgage sector into a new era. Her exceptional leadership also earned her a spot as a 2020 Women of Influence by HousingWire. As one of the 100 most highly-regarded women in housing finance, Nichols showcases her expertise in mentoring, leading teams and driving technical advances.

Prior to joining Pennymac, Nichols spent the beginning of her career in secondary marketing and capital markets, followed by a decade within the mortgage insurance space.

Jay Boand has served in multiple areas throughout his career in the mortgage industry, from originations in retail, to secondary marketing, to leading fulfillment teams and managing business channels. His leadership style is one that focuses on the customer, while recognizing there are both internal and external customers to serve. He is constantly looking for ways to improve processes and drive change to make the loan process easier for all parties involved. His current role at PRMG is to oversee all aspects of the Correspondent Channel as well as TPO Sales, responsible for strategic planning, business development, and operational excellence.

Jay currently resides in Orange County, CA with his wife and 2 young sons. When not chasing around or shuttling the boys, he enjoys the occasional round of golf or lazy day at the pool.

Dan Sogorka is the General Manager of Rocket Pro, where he leads the strategy, technology, and broker support initiatives that help mortgage professionals grow their businesses. Since joining in September 2024, Dan has focused on delivering real, practical value to brokers — from streamlining the loan process with AI-driven tools to championing programs that make it easier to close more loans.

Dan brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of mortgage and technology. Before Rocket Pro, he was CEO of Sagent, where he modernized servicing platforms used by top lenders. At Cloudvirga, he led efforts to simplify complex loan processes, with brokers at the center. He also spent nearly 15 years at Black Knight, helping build some of the foundational technologies that power today’s mortgage market.

A firm believer in broker choice and long-term partnership, Dan’s mission is simple: give brokers the tools, support, and transparency they need to win in any market.

Dan earned his engineering degree from Villanova University and lives in Southern California with his wife and three children.

Hunter Stair is an experienced product management leader who’s driven innovation and led high-performing teams across the financial services and mortgage servicing industries for over two decades. He currently oversees several products within the Sagent Default suite, delivering strategic vision, cross-functional leadership, and a deep commitment to customer-centric solutions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Virginia Tech and a Master’s degree in Information Systems from George Washington University

Jennifer is responsible for Sagent’s Dara Consumer product which is an online self-serve platform for homeowners.

Jennifer has been in the mortgage industry for almost 3 decades. She is a results-oriented product leader passionate about helping customers solve challenging problems through technology with 9 years of product management experience, specializing in mortgage servicing and mortgage originations. Her experience in product management, project management and working in the mortgage industry has helped paved the way for her success as a product leader.

Jennifer’s accomplishments include a design patent awarded in 2016. She was also recognized as Mortgage Women Magazine, Women of Tech in 2023.
